Carnival Cruise Fun Pass, Booking Procedures, and General Onboard Facts

May 31st, 2006

Before you set sail on a Carnival Cruise, there are certain things you should know.  Information on the Carnival Cruise Fun Pass, booking procedures, and general onboard facts will make planning your trip that much easier.

Since the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Department of Homeland Security requires detailed information be provided by all guests boarding cruises. Carnival’s way of collecting this information is the “fun pass”.  Such information as name, address, phone number, citizenship information, and travel itinerary is requested and is required prior to boarding.  Providing this information in advance makes boarding quick and easy.

People often wonder what they should pack for their journey aboard a cruise ship.  The important thing is to travel light and dress comfortably.  You will need good walking shoes as well as a pair of shoes that have rubber soles to walk around on deck.  As far as clothes, casual attire is suitable most of the time.  There are a couple of special dinners that require formal attire, but attendance is not required.

Self-service launderettes are available for guest use for a small fee; therefore, you will be able to wash your clothes while traveling.  Ironing boards are also available for use.

Basic hygiene necessities are provided, but vary by cruise and ship.  Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, razors, body wash, and Tylenol are some of the examples of what is provided; however, these are sample sizes and are not guaranteed.  Therefore, you may want to pack specifics you wish to have.

Gratuity is another area often wondered about by guests.  In most cases, gratuity is automatically added to your bill.  There are two options, one which a suggested gratuity is added to your bill on embarkation day, which can be altered up or down later, or a pre-paid gratuity may be added at $10.00 per day per person over the age of two.  Additional tipping is at the discretion of the guest.

Carnival Cruise Deals

May 31st, 2006

Relaxing on a cruise ship is a fantastic vacation for someone of almost any age; however, such a getaway does not come without a price tag.  Especially higher end cruises, these excursions can be very expensive and tolling on a bank account.  Luckily, many Carnival Cruise deals are available so you can still take advantage of a cruise, without spending every dime you have.

You may wish to utilize Carnival’s website to look at what deals are available.  Often, when departure time is quickly approaching, the company will post huge savings to book empty beds on upcoming cruises.  The more available beds, the larger the savings may be.  The company loses money when a ship is not fully booked and, for this reason, will offer significant savings to avoid that happening.  Likewise, a full boat makes passengers feel as though they made the right decision in purchasing tickets – popularity is confirmation for many.  No one wants to be on an empty cruise.

On the same note, empty beds are also sometimes available on discount websites.  There are several that specialize in major cruise lines where you can purchase tickets at incredible savings.  These are particularly useful the more cost is an issue.  However, these sites are usually less accommodating – what you see is what is available.  So, you may not be able to customize as many options as you would if buying from another source, but you can still get a great deal on a luxury cruise.

There are also special promotions that may be offered from Carnival for various reasons.  Perhaps celebrating a company anniversary or significant milestone, there may be other deals available at times as well.  You should simply check the company’s website periodically to see what they have available.  When it comes to deals, the more research you do, the less you will probably have to pay.

Do you spend the day within the realms of your imagination, relaxing on white sand or swimming in beautiful blue water?  Have you found the daily monotony of life competes little with the paradise you have created?  What if you were to be told the paradise of your dreams is actually available not far from home?  Excited? And to think – you were wondering where to go for your next vacation.  A Caribbean vacation travel cruise is the answer to your daydreams.  Not only will you find amazing beaches and crystal clear water, you will also enjoy luxury and comfort as you travel to your destination.

Cruises, in general, have become an incredibly popular means of vacationing.  With limitless entertainment, spas, movies, and night life, these ships are more like small cities on the water.  While cruises are currently on an upward trend, “paradise” excursions, such as to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Hawaii, and other beaches and islands are of particular interest to many people.  What is it that these cruises have to offer that is so much better than the typical vacation?  Everything!

You will start your journey by boarding a breathtaking ship.  Five star hotels and resorts pale in comparison to these structures.  While there are economy rooms available, most are extravagant suites with ocean views and balconies.  On the various levels of the ship are restaurants for every possible taste, bars and nightclubs for after-hours fun, and every form of entertainment imaginable.  Pools, spas, and other ways to spend your days are readily available.

If all of that is not enough, your ultimate destination is paradise!  You will dock on an island or beach and step off into soft sand and warm ocean water.  You may spend several days going from beach to beach, taking advantage of all that is available.  When you are finished at paradise, you will travel back home on our water resort.
