Carnival Cruise Fun Pass, Booking Procedures, and General Onboard Facts
Before you set sail on a Carnival Cruise, there are certain things you should know. Information on the Carnival Cruise Fun Pass, booking procedures, and general onboard facts will make planning your trip that much easier.
Since the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Department of Homeland Security requires detailed information be provided by all guests boarding cruises. Carnival’s way of collecting this information is the “fun passâ€. Such information as name, address, phone number, citizenship information, and travel itinerary is requested and is required prior to boarding. Providing this information in advance makes boarding quick and easy.
People often wonder what they should pack for their journey aboard a cruise ship. The important thing is to travel light and dress comfortably. You will need good walking shoes as well as a pair of shoes that have rubber soles to walk around on deck. As far as clothes, casual attire is suitable most of the time. There are a couple of special dinners that require formal attire, but attendance is not required.
Self-service launderettes are available for guest use for a small fee; therefore, you will be able to wash your clothes while traveling. Ironing boards are also available for use.
Basic hygiene necessities are provided, but vary by cruise and ship. Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, razors, body wash, and Tylenol are some of the examples of what is provided; however, these are sample sizes and are not guaranteed. Therefore, you may want to pack specifics you wish to have.
Gratuity is another area often wondered about by guests. In most cases, gratuity is automatically added to your bill. There are two options, one which a suggested gratuity is added to your bill on embarkation day, which can be altered up or down later, or a pre-paid gratuity may be added at $10.00 per day per person over the age of two. Additional tipping is at the discretion of the guest.
