Summary: UGH
Comment: This is one of only two games I have ever thrown away.
Maybe it was because I had to figure it out on my own, but I just couldn't get a handle on it.
Give me Sims any day.

Summary: Ok
Comment: I got the game thinking it was awesome, but it was ok.
Pros:
Graphics were above my expectation
It had zoom and rotate with unlockable items

Cons:
No instruction manual, (had to press all the key board buttons to find the controls)
It takes up 15 minutes of just watching your ship when traveling to ports.
Had no natural disasters.
Extremely hard to keep a cruise ship for just one cruise circuit.
Constantly crashing on my computer.

Summary: Possibly Great
Comment: If you're a fan of Tycoon games it's worth checking this one out. There are a few caveats, however.

Game summary: purchase a cruise ship and outfit it with all the stuff needed for a fun ocean voyage. Build cabins, manage crew, provide services, and organize activities. There's lots of stuff to build and do.

(+/-) The graphics and sound are okay. The graphics for the ship on the sea and in port are great but the animations of the people are a bit rough. Not too bad as to distract you from the game but not that realistic either. The sound is rather weak and I didn't notice anything that was catchy or helped to increase the atmosphere.

(-) Gameplay: the tutorial is horrid. Finding out what all the buttons do and how to navigate the game is pretty much up to your volition. You'll have to just jump in, pause the game, and click through all the menus to figure out what they do. This is a serious problem when it comes to managing some of the finer details of the cruise.

(+) Performance: the game runs very well on my system and I think the requirements on the box are a good estimation of what is needed to run the game. If you have some problems reduce the game's resolution or detail levels. I noticed that resolution above 800x600 may cause some distortion or problems.

(+) Entertainment: once you wade through the interface and figure how to manage everything the game pays off. It is fun watching your guests interact on the boat and trying to manage your company. I suspect it may get boring if you play it a lot which is why you should have multiple tycoon games on your computer - switch it up every once in a while!

Take care

Summary: Fun...if you like to loose!!
Comment: Luxury Liner Tycoon is very fun...if you don't mind loosing every time! There is a limited amount of money, and everything in the ship costs so much money to build, that by the time you start the ship, you have no more money to run it and end up loosing the game! Also, the costs of running the ships are astronomical!! You loose almost all your money and it gets very old after a while. There doesn't seem to be much of a point and you give up because it's too hard.
